COVID POLICIES

Wow! We are SO thrilled to welcome you back to lessons and classes at our space. Here we've detailed what we're doing to keep our studio as safe as possible, and what we expect of you when attending an in-person lesson.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

We need your help to keep our space safe! In addition to what we’re doing (listed below), we require that students adhere to the following rules to attend class at the studio.

PRIOR TO CLASS

  • No drop-ins are allowed. Please sign up for your class ahead of time through MINDBODY.

  • Do not come to class if you are feeling unwell, have a fever, have any symptoms of COVID-19, or possible known exposure risk. We encourage students to get tested regularly if possible. By attending an in-person class, you are acknowledging that you are fever-free and are not experiencing any potential symptoms of COVID-19.

  • If you begin feeling unwell or learn of a potential exposure after the early cancel window has closed, we will refund your class credit. Use of this policy requires a 14 day waiting period, a negative COVID-19 test, or a negative test for your potentially exposed contact before you may return to the studio.

  • If you’ve been traveling out of state (aside from commuting to work and except for MA-defined low risk neighboring states - as of 11/14: NH, VT, and ME), please do not plan to attend an in-person class until 14 days after your return to MA unless you test negative for COVID-19 following your return.

PREPARING FOR CLASS

  • Before you head to the studio, please remember to pack the following:

    • A mask that will stay in place while you’re getting your groove on

    • Yoga mat

    • Towel

    • Any grip aids you use

    • Full water bottle

  • A limited number of yoga mats and towels are available for student use at the studio. We strongly encourage you to bring your own yoga mat and/or towel for pole cleaning if possible.

ENTERING THE STUDIO

  • Students will be allowed in the studio 5 minutes prior to the class’s scheduled start time. If you arrive early, please wait (with 6-feet of distance from the person in front and behind you!) just outside the studio and the instructor will welcome you into the studio once the studio is clean and prepped for your class.

  • Masks are required for studio entry.

  • After entering, please wash your hands or use hand sanitizer and choose a pole station.

  • If you need a mat or towel, ask the instructor and they will bring the equipment to you to prevent crowding near the mat racks and towel storage.

DURING CLASS

  • Please stay within your pole station as much as possible to maintain distance from other students. If you need to use the bathroom or leave your station, keep your distance on the way over.

  • Please keep your nose and mouth covered with your mask at all times while in the studio. If you need water, you may briefly remove your mask to drink. Masks must be immediately positioned to cover your mouth and nose after drinking. No talking is permitted while your mask is briefly lowered.

  • Please bring a full water bottle to class. If you need a refill, our water dispenser is available for refills only. Detailed instructions for safe use of the water dispenser are posted at the studio. Please read and follow these instructions.

  • Sharing grip is not permitted. If you forget yours, ask your instructor about grips that we have for sale.

  • We will no longer be signing or storing student milestone cards. We will still provide you with your milestone card or a new milestone card to track your progress. Instructors will assess skills and provide verbal feedback on if you’ve passed the milestone at the end of class, and you can use your card to track your progress.

LEAVING THE STUDIO

  • At the end of class, please wipe down your pole with alcohol, collect your belongings, and promptly head out of the studio. We love chatting with you after class, but right now, we need the time in between to clean and allow our air purifiers and HVAC to do their work! If you’d like to catch up with your classmates, please do so outside of the studio.

  • If you’re staying for the next class, you may remain at your pole station in between classes.

AFTER YOUR VISIT

  • If, within 14 days of your last visit with us, you test positive for COVID-19, you are required to notify us of your positive result. Email us at flytogetherfitness@gmail.com or call us at (617)-545-5711.

We’re committed to enacting and enforcing these policies to keep our instructors and students safe. Refusal to adhere to the above policies will result in removal from class without a refund. If you have any questions about these policies, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at flytogetherfitness@gmail.com

WHAT WE'RE DOING

Here are the policies we're implementing to keep you as safe as possible in our space:

AIR QUALITY

  • Our HVAC has been upgraded to filter studio air with ASHRAE (The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) recommended MERV-13 air filters. It runs during class, performing approximately nine air changes per hour in the main studio space (MA recommends four air changes per hour).

  • In addition, we have a HEPA air purifier in the main studio space that filters studio air 1.5 times per class and removes particles 0.3 microns in size at 99.97% efficiency.

  • We’ve added a HEPA air purifier to the bathroom that filters air in that space, removing particles smaller than 0.3 microns with 99.97% efficiency four times per hour.

  • We will prop the studio door open for added ventilation if all students in the class feel comfortable with this.

  • Our 30 minute break between classes allows for several air changes to occur between groups of students.

SURFACES

  • High-contact surfaces are cleaned with CDC-approved disinfectants before lessons or classes, between lessons or classes, and at the end of the day. These include:

    • Door handles

    • Light switches

    • Faucet knobs

    • Toilet handle

    • Water dispenser

  • We’ve added touchless soap and paper towel dispensers to the bathroom to reduce contact with these surfaces.

  • Any used equipment is cleaned with CDC-approved disinfectants before and after each use. These include:

    • Poles

    • Floor

    • Yoga Mats (if used, we still recommend that you bring your own!) or yoga blocks

    • Spray bottle surface

  • No equipment will be shared by students during class. Each pole station has its own alcohol spray bottle for pole cleaning.

  • Hand sanitizer is available around the studio for student use.

  • Cubbies and shared spaces are no longer available for student use. Space for storing student belongings is marked near each pole station.

INSTRUCTOR HEALTH

  • Instructors monitor their health and in the event they experience any symptoms, have been exposed to COVID-19, or are a close contact of someone who has been exposed to COVID-19, they will find a substitute teacher.

  • If a substitute cannot be found, your class will be cancelled at least 2 hours in advance. In this case your class credit would be refunded to your account for future use. We take seriously the health and safety of our students and will not take any chances even though we know last minute cancellations can be frustrating.

DISTANCING

  • Class capacity has been cut in half - group lessons have a maximum of five attendees to allow for distancing. Each student will have their own pole station for the duration of the class

  • Instructors will stay distanced from students during class and will not be providing physical spots to students (don’t worry, we’ll still emotionally spot you!)
