Cover letter (1-page maximum): Why do you want to teach pole dance and why do you think your teaching approach is a good match for our studio?

  • I'm a pole dancer with no prior teaching experience, but I want to learn! Where do I start?
Our teacher training curriculum will walk you through the process of becoming an instructor so you'll feel confident leading your own classes, teaching proper technique, and inspiring and welcoming all your students! We require that you first complete a teacher training program - either ours or from another pole instructor training, including elevatED or Xpert. After that, you'll apply and we'll follow up with a 30 minute zoom interview with our team so we can learn more about your style, interests, and goals. If you're hired, we'll then train you in our specific milestones and teaching philosophy and help you develop your class plan. You'll shadow our experienced instructors and prepare for teaching your own class. During the training period, you'll be paid $18 an hour. Once you start teaching classes on your own, you'll be paid on our teaching pay scale and receive full instructor benefits! The training period takes about 2 months to complete and we plan to start our next cohort soon!
  • I'm a pole instructor with more than 1 year of teaching experience. How do I apply?
Amazing! We'd love to have you join our team! Apply by sending us a resume that includes your pole teaching and training and other movement-related experience. You may also include professional experience. We also ask that you outline your teaching philosophy and answer the questions - Why would you like to teach pole dance and why would you like to teach at Fly Together Fitness? - in a cover letter <1 page. Email both documents to us at We'll follow up with a 30 minute Zoom interview where we'll ask you about your teaching philosophy, movement style, and how you create an inclusive space. We'll continue the interview process by inviting you to the studio to teach a demo class. If you're hired, we'll train you on Fly Together Fitness policies, teaching philosophy, and on creating a welcoming environment on your classes. You'll be paid $18 an hour during this training period (typically ~2-3 weeks). Once you begin teaching classes you'll be paid based on years of prior teaching experience and will receive other FTF instructor perks!
  • How are Fly Together Fitness instructors compensated?
As an FTF instructor, you'll be paid for teaching and have access to several additional perks! Our instructors are paid based on prior pole teaching experience on our transparent pay scale. Our pay scale as of January 2023 is as follows: * 0 - 1.5 years experience: $25 / hour * 1.5 - 3 years experience: $27.50 / hour * 3 - 5 years experience: $30 / hour * 5 -7 years experience: $32.50 / hour * 7+ years experience: $35 / hour Both 60 and 75 minute classes are paid at 1.2 hours times the class length to account for time spent before and after class. If you teach a one hour group or private lesson, you'll receive a bonus on top of your pay rate. You'll also have studio access when classes and private lessons are not in session for training and class prep and will be able to take Fly Together Fitness classes through our Instructor Membership. Last, we are always focused on continuing development of our staff, so you'll have access to ongoing trainings and have the opportunity to continue to grow as a teacher and dancer!
