STUDIO POLICIES
STUDIO BEHAVIOR Fly Together Fitness expects all of our members to uphold our community standards and commitment to diversity. We have a zero tolerance policy towards discrimination, harassment, or any type of violence or abuse. Please join us in welcoming every individual.
LATENESS Classes begin on time. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early. Instructors will allow you into the studio five minutes prior to class. If you are more than 10 minutes late for a class, you are not allowed to join class. You will not be permitted to switch to another day and will not be refunded your money.
CANCELLATION If you need to cancel a class, please do so no later than 5 hours prior to the start time of the class for group lessons or 24 hours prior to the lesson for private lessons and parties. If you cancel within the 5-hour window, you will lose the class credit. In the event that Somerville declares a snow emergency, we will cancel classes - you will be texted and your reservation cancelled and your class pass will be returned to your account.
EXTENSIONS There are no extensions to package expiration dates. We offer package sizes to fit every poler's schedule, from single and five class packages to fifteen class packages. If you are unsure whether you'll make it to the studio enough for a larger class package, we recommend starting with a smaller class package.
FOOD Please do not eat or drink anything besides water in the studio. Please bring your own (full) water bottle as the water fountain can only be used for refills at this time.
ALCOHOL AND DRUGS Alcohol consumption and drug use are not permitted prior to or during physical activities at the studio. If you are under the influence when arriving at our studio, for safety reasons, you will not be allowed to participate, and will not be refunded for the class.
PHONES Out of respect for your instructors and fellow students, please no phone conversations, texting or emailing during class.
PICTURES AND FILMING We encourage students to film themselves both as a record of their progress and as a learning tool. However, please respect your fellow students’ privacy. Obtain permission if someone else is in your frame, or wait until class is over or for an All Levels pole class to film your video.
COMPETITION Fly Together Fitness is committed to creating a warm, welcoming environment. While we support and encourage students who want to compete as a way to celebrate personal growth and meet people in the pole dance community, we are not competitive with each other. We all deserve to celebrate ourselves wherever we are at in our fitness journey.
FEEDBACK We encourage honest feedback and open communication. Talk to us or send us your thoughts, ideas, and concerns. This is YOUR space. Help shape it.
REFUNDS All purchases with Fly Together Fitness are non-refundable
FAQ
What should I wear to class?
-
For beginner pole classes, please wear shorts. Skin contact is needed in order to grip the pole and perform many spins and tricks, so it is important to have your legs exposed. Leggings or sweatpants may be worn during the warm up, but please come with shorts underneath.
-
For advanced pole classes, more skin is needed to stick to the pole. Fitted shorts (e.g.“boyshorts,” shorter bike shorts, or pole/dance shorts), tank tops and/or sports bras are appropriate. .
-
For all pole classes, please do NOT apply any lotion or oils 8 hours before class. This will make the pole extremely slippery and hard to grip!
-
Remove all jewelry to prevent injury and damage to the poles (and to your jewelry). If you wouldn’t wear it to the gym, don’t wear it to pole class!
-
For non-pole classes such as flexibility, feel free to wear something comfortable like shorts or leggings.
-
Heels are not required for any of our classes, but are strongly encouraged for Stiletto Dance. Kneepads are also recommended for Stiletto Dance and Pole Choreo.
-
We try to keep our floors clean! Please do not wear street shoes in the studio. Heels, dance shoes and clean sneakers are ok.
What class should I sign up for?
-
If it is your first time pole dancing, we recommend the Intro to Pole class. Most students will take this class 3-5 times before moving on to Pole Level 1.
-
If you have previously taken pole classes, please review our level descriptions and “Frequent Flyer” card to determine which class is appropriate for your level.
How do I book using Momence?
-
You can access Momence on our website or on the Momence app where you can find our full range of classes and prices.
Do I need to sign up in advance? Can I drop in?
